Etsy Seasonal Selling Calendar: What to Sell and When

Month-by-month selling calendar for Etsy sellers. Key seasons, events, and planning timelines to maximise sales year-round.

Etsy Seasonal Selling Calendar

Etsy sales follow strong seasonal patterns. Knowing what sells when — and critically, when to start preparing — is essential for maximising revenue throughout the year. This calendar is tailored for UK-based Etsy sellers.

January - February

What sells: New Year's resolution products, organisational items, planners, fitness gifts, Valentine's Day items (from mid-Jan). Self-care and "treat yourself" products as buyers spend Christmas money.

When to prepare: Valentine's listings should be live by early January. Etsy's search trends shift toward Valentine's from mid-January.

March - April

What sells: Mother's Day gifts (March/April depending on year), Easter items, spring decor, wedding season begins with engagement party and hen party items.

When to prepare: Mother's Day listings at least 4-6 weeks before. Wedding items should be listed by March as couples plan spring and summer weddings.

May - June

What sells: Father's Day gifts, teacher gifts (end of term), graduation gifts, summer wedding accessories, garden and outdoor items.

When to prepare: Father's Day listings by late April. Teacher gift items by mid-May.

July - August

What sells: Typically the quietest period on Etsy. Summer holiday items, back-to-school (late August), personalised gifts for summer occasions.

When to prepare: Use this quieter period to build stock, create new listings, and prepare for Q4. Start photographing Christmas products.

September - October

What sells: Halloween items (huge on Etsy), autumn decor, early Christmas shopping begins in October, personalised Christmas items with long lead times.

When to prepare: Halloween listings by August. Christmas listings should start going live in September — serious Etsy buyers start shopping early.

November - December

What sells: Everything Christmas. This is the biggest selling period on Etsy. Gift items, personalised products, stocking fillers, home decor. Black Friday/Cyber Monday drives a spike in late November.

When to prepare: All Christmas listings should be live by early November. Set clear order-by dates for Christmas delivery. Consider pausing advertising in late December when delivery deadlines have passed.

Year-Round Strategy

Plan three months ahead. When you are selling spring items, you should already be preparing summer listings. This cadence keeps your shop fresh and capitalises on search trend shifts before your competitors.
